Merzouga is a small Saharan Berber village located right on the edge of Erg Chebbi Dunes and stands for oneof the most special places Sahara can offer. Erg Chebbi Dunes are located 20 kilometres from the Algerian border and have a special energy that will make you feel SPECIAL…

A trip to Morocco without visiting Erg Chebbi is not a trip to Morocco as huge part of Moroccan culture comes from Sahara itself. The biggest dune in Erg Chebbi goes as high as 250m and its fine red sand offers one of the most fantastic sceneries in North Africa.

The Sahara is the world’s largest hot desert, almost as large as the United States. The Sahara is located in northern Africa and is 2.5 million years old. Its name, Sahara, is an English pronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic.
The boundaries of the Sahara are the Atlantic Ocean on the west, the Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. The Sahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains, Tenere desert and the Libyan desert. The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi (3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. Erg Chebbi Dunes in Morocco are the highest dunes in all the west part of Sahara Desert.
